Oven-Baked Cranberry-Dijon Glazed Ham #christmas #cranberry

It's okay better than the homemade oven-baked ham glaze I say. This recipe uses fresh cranberries, which means it's perfect for a holiday season! I like the spirit that dijon mustard adds too. This recipe that shows how to ham glaze is super easy to throw together!

From sheer laziness, Eric and I have managed to convince our children that "milk" is something. Like if they finish their milk for dinner and want water, we don't rinse the Cup. Tonight I pour Charlotte's water for him and he goes, "That looks like a dirty swamp!" Why huh Yes it's not. Drink.

  •  2 cups of fresh cranberries
  •  1/4 cup of water
  •  1/4 cup of honey
  •  2 tablespoons of dijon mustard
  •  1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  •  1/2 cup of brown sugar
  •  1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  •  5-6 pounds of cooked ham (I use spiral sliced ham)

  1. Combine cranberry, water, and honey in a medium pan. Located above medium heat.
  2. Stir occasionally for about 4-5 minutes, until most cranberries have appeared.
  3. Add dijon mustard, vinegar, sugar and cayenne.
  4. Continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens some and is sweet. Remove from heat.
  5. If you have a dyeing blender, use it to puree the sauce. (If you don't, transfer the mixture to an ordinary blender. Leave the top of the vented blender (to allow steam to escape) and cover with a towel. Blend until smooth.)
  6. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. prepare to bake the pan with a baking rack so that it doesn't cook ham in the juice itself (you want a nice crispy bottom, not mushy ham butt please.)
  7. Place ham on a baking rack and use a sharp serrated knife for a diagonal ham score.
  8. Use a brush to coat the entire ham with cranberry sauce. (You will repeat this process once again about 20 minutes before ham is done.)
  9. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 1 and 1/2 to 2 and 1/4 hour, or until the thermometer registers 135 degrees F. (about 20-25 minutes per pound). (You don't have to worry about too much temperature because the ham is cooked. You just want to make sure that the heat is all the way through.
  10. 20 minutes before you think it will be done, brush with sauce once more.
  11. Serve ham with glaze left (warm it in the microwave or on the stove because it will cool now.)
