This juicy Thai-style pork meatball is deliciously flavored with lemongrass, ginger and garlic. As an appetizer this meatballs are amazing with an intensely flavorful sauce, but they also make a great main dish.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound of lean ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of minced lemongrass
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of oil for frying

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon roasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp chopped coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 1 small pepper pepper, de-seeded and finely chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Stir all ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  2. Mix all ingredients for meatballs thoroughly and roll into a spoonful of the size of the ball with wet hands. Make around 25.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan on medium. Cook temporary meatballs often stirred until browned from all sides and cooked. This takes about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Serve meatballs as an appetizer with sauce, or as a main dish with rice or pasta.
