Easy 15 Minutes Garlic Shrimp Scampi Chow Fun Noodle Recipe

Dinner on the table in 15 minutes: tender shrimp in soy sauce and garlic butter sauce tossed with wide rice noodles and leeks. 6 ingredients and very tasty.

I have a new kitchen staple and that is something I never thought I would be, but now it's hard: dry vermicelli. I always thought that various rice noodles, or ho, were the freshest. I mean, nothing is more entertaining to me than the soft and chewy texture of a large bowl of delightful chow beef. However, after doing two side-by-side tests, I was in a dry noodle camp. Which is very convenient because that means you can throw this dish together with things without going shopping, if you have shrimp in the freezer, that is.

Anyway, the weather clearly has become comfortable. It made me want to make all the food fall mainly because I kept seeing Oktoberfest ads everywhere. I think I have to make other pretzels a few years ago but again I really look forward to making pumpkin-y recipe for shellfish dolls. But for now, what I really will eat is all the noodles.

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 4-6 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 8 oz of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 oz dry ho pleasant / wide vermicelli
  • leeks or green onions, cut into 1 inch portions
  • salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Bring a large pot of boiling water and cook less 1 minute rice noodles that what the package calls for.
  2. While cooking rice noodles, heat the butter to medium heat in a large skillet or pan. When hot, add garlic and cook, stir, until soft but not brown. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and cooked, turning once.
  3. Beat in soy sauce and 1/4 cup of Bakmi flour to cook water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Drain the rice noodles and add them to the pan with shrimp. Stir to combine, taste and season with salt and pepper. Stir in chives and enjoy!
