A little Chritmas #christmas #cake

I think I'm a little obsessed with trivia and mostly because I love layered desserts! They are very fun to make and usually look so beautiful that you almost don't want to eat them. Luckily, I said almost, and most people are willing to dive right with this delicious dessert. A few years ago, I made grasshoppers a bit of a hit, so I thought I'd make a peppermint version for Christmas.

This trifle is a delicious combo of cut chocolate cake, Oreo, peppermint filling cheesecake and Peppermint Andes. If you are like me and love peppermint and chocolate flavor combos, then you will enjoy this dessert. It's cool, creamy and screams holiday goodness. It takes time to make, but it's still simple and good for upcoming holidays.

  • Chocolate cake mix (with the addition of ingredients behind)
  • 2 vanilla or white chocolate pudding boxes (3.3 oz boxes)
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint seasoning
  • cool small container whip divided
  • 1 package of Oreo or Peppermint Oreo
  • 15 chopped peppermint Andes

  1. Start by making your chocolate cake according to the instructions behind in 9 x 13 pans.
  2. When finished, let it cool completely and then cut it to 1-1½ inch squares. Set aside.
  3. Make peppermint fill with stirring with a mixture of pudding and milk in a large bowl. After being combined, add seasoning, pink peppermint coloring food and all but 1 cup of your cool whip. Stir well. Set aside.
  4. Add Oreos to gallons of bags and destroy. I use rolling pins to break them.
  5. Start layering your dessert by adding half your cake box down. Then add half of the mint you fill together with half of the crushed Oreo.
  6. Add the rest of your cake box, then fill in the mint Oreo.
  7. Top with your last cool whip and chopped Andes.
  8. Cool at least 1-2 hours before serving. ENJOY!
